Hannibal, NY – Three-Vehicle Collision at Intersection Caused by Drowsy Driver
Hannibal, NY (February 8, 2019) – State Police are actively involved in an investigation concerning a three-vehicle accident that occurred Friday, February 8, in the town of Hannibal. The crash was reported to have happened at the intersection of State Route 3 and State Route 104 at an unspecified time.
A preliminary investigation into the incident showed that the crash occurred when 20-year-old Braeden S. Davis, of Dalton, fell asleep behind the wheel of a 2016 Ford pickup truck while traveling south along State Route 104. Davis subsequently went through a red light at the intersection with Route 3 and collided with a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Erick X. Febus-Munoz.
The impact of the crash sent the Trailblazer into a utility pole, causing a power outage at the intersection. Davis was reported to have been hauling a small trailer which then struck another 2016 pickup truck driven by 43-year-old Scott J. Victory, of Hannibal who had been stopped at the intersection at the time.
Paramedics and police arrived at the scene where they transported one passenger in the Trailblazer, identified as 26-year-old Edwin F. Febus-Munoz, to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. He was reported to have sustained non-life-threatening injuries. None of the other parties involved were stated to have been injured in the crash.
