Westbury, NY – Four Hurt When Car Crashes into Nail Salon on Long Island
Westbury, NY (January 28, 2019) – Monday afternoon, January 28, a motor vehicle was stated to have crashed into a nail salon in Westbury, Long Island, subsequently causing the injuries of four people. Authorities reported that the accident happened at a nail salon located on Post Avenue at around 2:15 p.m.
Police stated that the driver involved had been making an illegal U-turn in the center of Post Avenue when another car struck the vehicle from behind. The force of the collision pushed the front end of the first vehicle into the nail salon. Authorities said that there were both employees and customers inside the building at the time of the crash.
Firefighters along with police and paramedics were called to the scene where they attended to four injured parties, including the driver. All injuries are believed to be relatively minor.
The vehicle crashed through the glass and into equipment and chairs, however, the village building inspector stated that there was no structural damage. No further details have been released at this time.
