Upper East Side, Manhattan, NY (January 28, 2019) – A woman was rescued and taken to the hospital on Monday morning, January 28, after being stuck in an elevator for the entire weekend. The woman involved in this premises liability accident was reported as an employee who had become trapped in the elevator of a townhouse where she had been working on Friday, January 25.
According to authorities, the FDNY had responded to the incident at a townhouse located at 48 East 65th Street on the Upper East Side. Emergency responders arrived shortly after 10:00 a.m. and saved the victim who was stated to have become trapped between the second and third floors for over two days.
The woman, identified only as a cleaning employee, was rescued after firefighters forced open the door. She was immediately taken to a local hospital to be treated for unspecified injuries. Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident.
