Bay Ridge, NY – 88-Year-Old Woman Struck and Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Crash
Bay Ridge, NY (January 27, 2019) – An 88-year-old woman in Bay Ridge was struck in a fatal pedestrian crash that took place when her own vehicle hit her.
At the time, Alba Mazza drove her vehicle up to the garage on 96th Street near Shore Road around 5:50 p.m. When she got out of her vehicle and opened her garage door, the vehicle rolled forward and crushed her.
When police arrived at the scene of the accident, Mazza was found on the ground with severe trauma to her body. She was rushed to the hospital and promptly pronounced deceased.
Police spoke with those who were neighbors or in the area at the time of the accident, but the accident remains under investigation at this time.
