Gates, NY – Two People Injured After SUV Crash into Creek
Gates, NY (January 24, 2019) – On Thursday morning, January 24, two people had to be rescued after an SUV went off the road for unspecified reasons and subsequently overturned into a creek in the town of Gates. The accident was reported to have occurred at around 9:30 a.m. in the area of Route 490 and 204.
At this time, state troopers have stated that the vehicle exited the roadway during the morning commute and landed upside down in the water. Firefighters arrived at the scene along with troopers to assist two people who were still inside the SUV after the crash.
Both victims were quickly rescued from the frigid waters and quickly transported to a local hospital for treatment. Both party’s conditions have been classified as non-life-threatening at this time.
Police are looking into the events that led to this incident and slippery roads are being considered a possible cause. No further information has been released.
