Syracuse, NY – Woman in Critical Condition After High-Rise Apartment Fire on Burt St.
Syracuse, NY (January 21, 2019) – A serious fire broke out at a high-rise apartment in Syracuse on Saturday morning, January 21, that was reported to have left a woman in critical condition. According to local authorities, the blaze started at around 3:00 a.m. at a unit located inside of the Almus Olver Towers on Burt Street.
The cause of the fire has not been determined at this time but according to police, an unidentified 53-year-old woman was rescued from the blaze. Syracuse firefighters and Syracuse police responded to the scene where emergency crews transported the injured woman to Upstate University for treatment.
The victim was reported to have suffered burns and smoke inhalation during the fire. Her current condition has been listed as critical. Authorities are likely to be working in order to determine the events that led to this fire.
