Manhattan, NY – One Dead and One Injured in Fiery Car Accident Near W. 155th St.

Manhattan, NY (January 20, 2019) – A driver lost their life and another person was injured in a fiery car accident that took place in upper Manhattan near West 155th Street.

The accident happened around 4 a.m. in the morning today when a Toyota Camry overturned and caught fire following a car accident inside the Trinity Church Cemetery. A 37-year-old was hospitalized in critical condition but it has been confirmed that they are expected to be okay.

The female driver involved in the accident, whose name has not yet been released, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The driver had been going the wrong way on the street when she struck another vehicle and crashed through a brick wall.

Her vehicle landed upside-down. A witness spoke with police because she witnessed the accident scene. She immediately ran over, where she saw that the vehicle was on fire and a man was crawling out from under the vehicle.

Police are still investigating the circumstances of this accident.
