Central Islip, NY – Queens Man Struck and Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident at Wheeler Rd and Janice Ln
Central Islip, NY (January 20, 2019) – A Queens man was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident that took place when a teenage motorist struck him as he was crossing the street.
28-year-old Mahendra Punai was walking near the corner of Wheeler Road and Janice Lane when he suddenly tripped and fell into the road this morning around 2:05 a.m.
This is when 19-year-old Amanda Ibarra drove by with her 1999 Lexus and struck Punai when she was unable to stop.
Ibarra was not injured in the accident. Punai was tragically pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Police continue their investigation into the accident at this time.
