Ronkonkoma, NY – Crash on Long Island Expressway Leaves Two Seriously Injured
Ronkonkoma, NY (January 16, 2019) – A reckless driver was stated to have caused a serious crash on the Long Island Expressway on Wednesday afternoon, January 16. The crash was reported by police to have taken place at around 3:50 p.m. between exits 58 and 59 in the westbound lanes of the expressway.
According to authorities, the collision happened after an unidentified male driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed into another car. Paramedics were sent to the scene of the collision along with police where they immediately transported two people to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment.
The two injured parties were reported to have been seriously hurt in the crash, however, their specific conditions have not been made available. The driver of the vehicle who lost control and caused the accident has been charged with reckless driving.
All westbound lanes of the expressway were closed down following the incident.
