Brooklyn, NY – Update: Police Identify Victim Killed in Monday Evening Crash on Neptune Ave.

Brooklyn, NY (January 15, 2019) – Police have now identified the man who was tragically killed in a car crash on Monday evening, January 14, along Neptune Avenue. 56-year-old Leonid Rusinov, of Arden Heights, is believed to have possibly suffered a medical episode before the crash which occurred at around 5:00 p.m. in Brooklyn.

Police who conducted the preliminary investigation believe that Rusinov had been traveling west in a 2017 Dodge Ram cargo van along Neptune Avenue when he suddenly swerved into the eastbound lanes while approaching E. Cass Place. Rusinov struck the front-end of an unoccupied 2017 BMW.

Emergency medical crews were called to the scene along with police to evaluate the crash and render aid to the victim. Rusinov was found unconscious and unresponsive inside of his vehicle and quickly taken to Coney Island Hospital. He was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.

The cause of this accident is currently under investigation as all of the details have not been confirmed at this time.
