Patchogue, NY – One Person Struck and Killed in Pedestrian Accident
Patchogue, NY (January 13, 2019) – Police say that one person was struck in a pedestrian accident and lost their life in Patchogue early this morning, January 13, around 5 a.m.
Police say that the pedestrian, identified as 34-year-old Jose Chicas-Diaz, was transported to the hospital in East Patchogue immediately after being struck. He was tragically pronounced dead while there.
Chicas-Diaz was struck by a Ford Explorer as it headed south on Route 112. The driver who struck the pedestrian was identified as 58-year-old Segundo Tacuri of East Hampton.
Police are still looking for witnesses who might have seen the accident take place so that they can gain more information. Their investigation into the incident continues at this time.
