Watertown, NY – Child Injured by Drunk Driver on Mill Street

Watertown, NY (January 8, 2019) – A crash that was caused by an intoxicated driver on Sunday afternoon, January 6, was reported to be responsible for injuries suffered by a small child, according to local authorities in Watertown. The driver who has been identified as 34-year-old Samantha A. Morrison, of Black River, caused the collision at approximately 2:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Mill Street.

According to police, Morrison had been driving along Mill Street when she blew through a red light and collided with another vehicle. The other vehicle contained two occupants, identified only as a 38-year-old woman and a 3-year-old boy. Police along with paramedics were immediately called to the scene to assess the damages and attend to the victim or victims.

The 3-year-old boy was taken to Samaritan Medical Center to be treated for at least minor injuries. City police records state that Morrison had a BAC of 0.36% following the collision and has since been charged with aggravated DWI and failure to stop at a red light, as well as driving with expired inspection sticker.
