Staten Island, NY – Car Crash on West Shore Expressway
Staten Island, NY (January 8, 2019) – On Tuesday morning, January 8, during the morning rush hours, police and emergency crews were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on the West Shore Expressway. The collision was reported to have happened in the northbound lanes at some time before 8:00 a.m., according to authorities.
Police were dispatched to the crash site in the area of Arthur Kill Road to evaluate the accident which occurred for reasons that have not yet been determined. Authorities have reason to believe that at least minor injuries were suffered due to the impact of the collision, however, that information has not been entirely verified at this time.
As of 8:00 a.m., traffic had been backed up to Bloomingdale Road as responders worked the scene. No further information has been provided as police are likely to be involved in a thorough investigation into the events that led to this incident.
