Buffalo, NY – 13-Year-Old Girl Critically Injured in House Fire

Buffalo, NY (January 3, 2019) – A fire broke out at a home on Leroy Avenue shortly before 4:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, January 3, that sadly left a 13-year-old girl with critical injuries. The two-story home located on Buffalo’s east side caught fire for reasons that are currently under investigation.

According to authorities, firefighters were immediately sent to the scene where they found the young girl trapped in a back bedroom on the second floor and removed her. The injured teen was immediately transported to Erie County Medical Center, however, she was then taken to Oishei Children’s Hospital. The latest information stated that the victim is listed in critical condition.

A pet cat was also reported to have been rescued from the blaze, although there was no word concerning any other injured individuals. No further information has been made available as investigators are actively working to determine the events that led to this incident.
