Buffalo, NY – Early Morning Car Crash Claims Life on Franklin Street
Buffalo, NY (January 1, 2019) – A man was tragically killed in a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Franklin Street, according to the Buffalo Police Department. The crash took place at around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, January 1.
According to authorities, the driver of a Chevrolet Malibu crashed the vehicle on the 500 block of Franklin Street for reasons that are currently unknown. The driver had been heading north along Franklin when the vehicle hit a fire hydrant, as well as a parked vehicle and a light pole. Police along with paramedics were quickly dispatched to the scene shortly after the crash.
Emergency medical crews transported one passenger, only identified as a man in his 40’s, to Erie County Medical Center where he was sadly pronounced dead. Police have reason to believe that there were other people in the vehicle but that they fled the area on foot.
Anyone with any information is being asked to contact the Buffalo Police Department as this incident remains under investigation. No further details have been provided.
