Richmond Hill, NY – Motor Vehicle Accident After Drag Racing
Richmond Hill, NY (December 30, 2018) – Yesterday around 11:55 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident that took place on Richmond Hill due to a drag racing event.
FDNY and NYPD were called to the scene of the motor vehicle accident that happened on the Southbound Van Wyck Expressway in the area of Liberty Avenue Exit 5.
Police found that a vehicle had run into the highway wall when they were drag racing, causing an accident. Four to five vehicles were involved in the drag race.
All lanes of traffic were closed as police removed vehicles from the scene. They claimed that three passengers were injured, but the extent of their injuries is not known at this time.
Police continue their investigation at this time.
