Buffalo, NY – Christmas Day Hit-and-Run Crash Being Investigated by Police
Buffalo, NY (December 26, 2018) – According to Buffalo Police, a hit-and-run crash that sent one person to the hospital occurred on Tuesday evening, December 25, on Route 33 westbound. The accident which happened at an unspecified time forced authorities to close down all lanes of the roadway.
Police have stated that a brown Kia sedan had veered while traveling along the aforementioned road, subsequently striking a Jeep. The force of the collision caused the Jeep to hit a median and ultimately flip over in the center of the road.
Emergency medical crews along with police arrived at the scene to assess the incident and assist the sole occupant of the Jeep. The driver of the Jeep, identified only as a 48-year-old woman, was immediately transported to Erie County Medical Center to be treated for her injuries. She has since been released.
The driver of the Kia did not remain at the scene to cooperate with authorities but fled the area instead. Police are actively investigating the incident at this time.
