Buffalo, NY – Police Officer Injured in Crash at Intersection
Buffalo, NY (December 24, 2018) – Late Sunday evening, December 23, Buffalo police confirmed that an officer was involved in a motor vehicle accident after being struck by a car that was reported to be traveling at a high rate of speed. The specific time of the collision has not been stated at this time.
According to Buffalo Police Captain, Jeff Rinaldo, the patrol car involved was struck by another vehicle at the intersection of East Ferry and Wohlers Avenue. The car that hit the officer was stated to have been speeding, although there has been no word concerning any charges.
Emergency medical crews along with police were quickly called to the scene where the officer sustained at least minor injuries in the accident. Currently, the extent of the injuries suffered has not been provided but are believed to not be very serious.
Authorities are actively investigating the incident as this is a developing story.
