Rochester, NY – Update: Pedestrian Hit by Garbage Truck Identified by Police
Rochester, NY (December 21, 2018) – The man who was struck and injured by a garbage truck on Wednesday afternoon, December 19, has been identified by police as 60-year-old Craig Levin. The injurious pedestrian accident was reported to have occurred at around 1:00 p.m. in the area of Chestnut Street and East Avenue in Rochester.
Investigators stated that Levin had been attempting to walk across Chestnut Street when a garbage truck then made a left turn onto the same road from East Avenue and subsequently struck the man. Police, emergency medical crews, and firefighters were promptly called to the scene where they worked to pull Levin from underneath the truck.
The severely injured pedestrian was quickly rushed to Strong Memorial Hospital via ambulance, according to authorities. Levin is currently listed in guarded condition.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
