Pompey, NY – One Dead Following Motor Vehicle Crash with Farm Truck
Pompey, NY (December 21, 2018) – A fatal collision that also left one person injured took place on Wednesday night, December 20, in Pompey. The collision happened in the southbound lane of an unspecified road between a pickup truck and a combine farm truck.
According to authorities, a farm truck had been stopped in the roadway when it was rear-ended by a pickup truck that was also traveling south. Police along with paramedics were immediately sent to the scene where they found the driver of the pickup, William Miner, 58, of LaFayette, deceased from the injuries he suffered in the crash.
A 14-year-old girl who had been riding in the pickup was immediately transported to a hospital in Syracuse to be treated for critical injuries. The young victim has been listed in stable condition at this time.
The operator of the farm truck was reported to have been unharmed in the accident. No further details have been made available as authorities are continuing the investigation into the incident.
