Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, NY – One Person Hospitalized in Critical Condition After Fire

Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, NY (December 11, 2018) – Firefighters and emergency medical crews were sent to the scene of a fire that broke out Tuesday morning, December 11, in Bay Ridge. The fire, which ultimately resulted in the hospitalization of one individual, was reported to have started at around 9:46 a.m. at an apartment complex in the 9500 block of Fort Hamilton Parkway.

According to authorities at the scene, the blaze began on the fourth floor of the six-story building and quickly grew. Firefighters who responded to the incident took around an hour just to get the raging fire under control.

Emergency medical crews were reported to have transported one person to Staten Island University Hospital North Campus to be treated for serious injuries. The victims’ condition is currently listed as critical.

There has been no word pertaining to a possible cause as investigators are actively working to determine the events that led to the fire.
