Chestertown, NY – Two People Killed in Two-Car Collision

Chestertown, NY (December 10, 2018) – On Saturday morning, December 8, a two-vehicle accident was reported to have resulted in the deaths of two people in Chestertown. The accident was stated to have taken place on Route 8 by Hill Clyde Acres at approximately 10:00 a.m., according to authorities.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office was notified of the serious crash that occurred between two vehicles and sadly resulted in two deaths and one injury. 89-year-old Walter Christie, of Chestertown, was traveling east along Route 8 when he veered his 2004 Subaru Legacy into the path of an oncoming 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander.

The driver of the Outlander was identified as 70-year-old John M. Lewis, and both he and Christie were immediately transported to Glens Falls Hospital for treatment. Sadly, Christie and Lewis were both pronounced dead shortly after they arrived. 66-year-old Ralph E. Lewis was a passenger in the Outlander and is currently hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities are actively conducting a thorough investigation into the events that led to this devastating collision.
