Binghamton, NY – Four Injured in Fire on Glenwood Avenue
Binghamton, NY (December 4, 2018) – According to authorities in Binghamton, a fire broke out at an apartment building located at 87 Glenwood Avenue on Saturday night, December 4. The fire which occurred in a building that contains four apartments forced some of the residents to escape through the window on the second-story.
The fire was reported to have started at around 10:30 p.m. as firefighters arrived a short time after to battle the flames. The blaze was believed to have started due to faulty electrical holiday lights in an apartment located on the second floor.
Three adults and three children escaped the flames in the apartment where the fire started, although four of the six had to flee through a window. The remaining occupants of the building were able to escape the fire via normal exits. Flames were stated to have extended to the attic of the structure from the back porch, as well.
Paramedics transported four people who suffered injuries during the fire. The exact conditions of those victims have not been specified but all injuries are believed to be rather minor at this time.
