Macedon, NY – Three-Vehicle Crash Leaves Deputy Hospitalized
Macedon, NY (December 3, 2018) – A motor vehicle collision involving three vehicles resulted in the hospitalization of a Wayne County Deputy on Sunday afternoon, December 2. The crash was reported to authorities at approximately 12:30 p.m. in Macedon.
According to local authorities, the deputy involved in the collision was on his way to a call in a marked patrol car when the driver of another vehicle crashed into him at the intersection of Route 31 and Canandaigua Road. The deputy had been traveling south on Canandaigua when the other vehicle struck him and sent the patrol cat careening into a third car that was stopped at the intersection.
The car that struck the patrol vehicle was being operated by Geoffrey Warren, of Fairport. Paramedics who were called to the scene immediately transported the injured deputy to Strong Memorial Hospital to be treated for injuries that have been considered minor.
No further information has been made available at this time and police are actively conducting a thorough investigation into this incident.
