Coram, NY – Man Flung Out of Wheelchair in Hit-and-Run Accident
Coram, NY (December 1, 2018) – In Coram, a man was flung out of his wheelchair and left alongside the road following a hit-and-run accident. Suffolk County Police are looking for the driver responsible for the accident.
The victim was identified as a 48-year-old who was going south in the northbound bicycle lane on Mount Sinai-Coram Road. A vehicle started coming toward him around 5:35 p.m. and struck him.
The man was identified as a homeless man who had everything he owned on his wheelchair. His wheelchair was so badly damaged by the accident that he couldn’t use it anymore. The man was taken to the hospital with head and neck injuries.
Police are now searching for the gray vehicle responsible for this horrific accident.
