Sodus, NY – Update: teen Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver, Identified

Sodus, NY (November 28, 2018) – A 15-year-old girl was struck by a pickup truck on Monday night, November 26, subsequently suffering critical injuries as a result of the impact. According to authorities, the young victim has now been identified as Marcell Grady.

The incident was reported to have taken place at approximately 5:30 p.m. as Grady was attempting to walk across the intersection of Aling Drive and State Street in Sodus. Deputies stated that the driver of a pickup truck hit Grady and then briefly spoke to her through his window before fleeing the scene, leaving her injured on the ground.

According to authorities, Grady managed to walk to a nearby Chinese restaurant where 911 was called. The injured girl was immediately transported to Strong Memorial Hospital where she ended up listed in guarded condition. Further information stated that Grady had been improving, however, she has been placed back in guarded condition at this time.

Police are still asking that anyone with any information concerning the driver of the pickup truck involved please contact them.
