Massapequa, NY – Long Island House Fire Leaves One Dead

Massapequa, NY (November 28, 2018) – One man was reported to have tragically lost his life in a house fire that broke out Tuesday night, November 27. According to officials who arrived on the scene, the fire started at approximately 9:45 p.m. in the garage of the Long Island home.

Firefighters were called to the scene to battle the blaze that was reported to be quickly spreading through a home located on Martin Street in Massapequa, according to authorities. Two people were stated to have made it out of the house safely, however, one man remained trapped inside and sadly lost his life in the fire.

Officials confirmed that the fire started in the garage and then rapidly spread to the rest of the house. Unfortunately, the cause of the fire is currently unknown.

No further information has been made available at this time, as investigators are actively looking into the events that led to the blaze.
