Hyde Park, NY – One Dead and Two Injured in Two-Vehicle Collision
Hyde Park, NY (November 25, 2018) – According to police in Hyde Park, one man lost his life while two other people suffered injuries during a car accident that took place Friday afternoon, November 23. The fatal crash was reported to have occurred on St. Andrews Road at around 1:00 p.m. in Hyde Park.
Police stated that the head-on collision happened when a 43-year-old woman who was driving a Hyundai west on St. Andrews Road crossed over the center line and headed into the oncoming lane. The driver of the Hyundai proceeded to collide with a Dodge Intrepid that was traveling east on the same road.
The 73-year-old male driver of the Dodge, as well as the driver of the Hyundai and one passenger, were extricated from their vehicles by the Hyde Park and Roosevelt Fire Departments. The elderly male operator of the Dodge was immediately taken to MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie where he tragically succumbed to his injuries.
The two occupants of the Hyundai were also transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital where they are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation into this accident is ongoing.
