Melville, NY – Fatal Accident Takes Place Along Long Island Expressway

Melville, NY (November 24, 2018) – This morning, November 24, one person was killed and many others were injured in a fatal accident along the Long Island Expressway. The crash happened around midnight in the eastbound lanes near Exit 49.

Originally, two people were involved in a fender-bender and police were called. At that time, 31-year-old Eric Preto exited his vehicle to speak with the driver who he rear-ended, identified as Madhava Reddy. At that time, Preto was struck by another driver in a third vehicle. Then, a fourth car crashed into Preto’s vehicle, where his wife and two-year-old were at the time.

Preto died at the scene of the accident. The two in the vehicle, along with Reddy, were all taken to the hospital with injuries. At this time, police continue to investigate the accident to determine what caused the accident to take place.
