Amherst, NY – Name of UB Student Injured in Hit-and-Run, Released
Amherst, NY (November 16, 2018) – Authorities have now released the name of the female student who was tragically struck by a hit-and-run driver on campus at the University at Buffalo on Thursday night, November 1. The injurious accident was reported to have taken place at the Hadley Village Apartments on UB’s north campus.
According to police, the accident happened when the 20-year-old college student from Singapore, now identified as Renuka Ramanadhan, was crossing Hadley Street. Ramanadhan was struck by a vehicle traveling down Hadley Street and the driver of that vehicle did not stop to offer assistance or alert authorities. Ramanadhan is currently listed in stable condition at Erie County Medical Center.
20-year-old Hannah Christensen, a student from Clifton Park, was later determined to be the driver that struck Ramanadhan after someone told police that Christensen had spoken about hitting something on campus. Christensen was charged with leaving the scene of a serious injury accident and failing to report it.
