Colonie, NY – Man Struck and Injured by Police Car
Colonie, NY (November 14, 2018) – Wednesday night, November 14, a man was reported to have been struck by a Colonie police car while crossing a road in Colonie. Police stated that the accident which left the victim with multiple injuries took place at an unspecified time.
According to local authorities, the victim had been attempting to walk across Loudon Road in the vicinity of Fiddler’s Lane when the police car struck the man. The man who had just stepped off a CDTA bus was knocked to the ground by the impact of the collision.
The officer immediately stopped, called in the crash, and provided medical attention while waiting for paramedics to arrive on the scene. Emergency medical personnel transported the victim to Albany Med with several injuries. The victim is currently in an unknown condition.
Loudon Road was closed down for around an hour but no further information has been provided at this time. Police are actively investigating the events that led to this incident.
