Trumansburg, NY – Route 96 Closed Following Multi-Vehicle Crash

Trumansburg, NY (November 8, 2018) – Authorities were forced to shut down Route 96 between Agard Road and Cold Springs Road due to a multi-vehicle accident with possibly serious injuries. The accident was reported to have happened sometime around 4:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon, November 8, in Trumansburg.

Tompkins County Dispatch reported the accident which was initially believed to have involved at least three vehicles in the 1900 block of Trumansburg Road, also known as Route 96. The large crash caused the road to be completely closed down for over one-half hour but was reopened shortly after 4:30 p.m.

Serious injuries are believed to have resulted from the crash as Trumansburg Fire, EMS, and police responded to the collision, as well as the New York State Police and the Tompkins County Sheriff. However, there has been no word as to the number of individuals involved in the accident or the extent of any injuries that resulted.

No further information has been provided at this time as police are likely continuing their investigation into the incident.
