Lawrence, NY – Pedestrian Killed When Struck by Large Truck on Central Avenue
Lawrence, NY (November 8, 2018) – Police stated that a fatal pedestrian accident involving a truck occurred early Thursday afternoon, November 8, in Lawrence. According to authorities, the deadly collision was reported to have taken place at around 1:20 p.m.
The victim was confirmed to be a 34-year-old man who was struck as he was crossing Central Avenue, according to police. The truck that hit the man was said to have been heading northbound on Nassau Expressway at the time of the accident.
Police responded to the call shortly after the accident along with emergency medical personnel to evaluate the scene and render aid to the victim. The severely injured man was immediately taken to a local hospital vis Hatzalah ambulance to be treated for his wounds. Tragically, the victim was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
