Rockaway Beach, Queens, NY – One Dead and Three Injured in Raging House Fire
Rockaway Beach, Queens, NY (November 7, 2018) – A fire broke out in the home of a woman in Rockaway Beach on Monday, November 5, tragically resulting in her death, according to authorities. The fire which was reported at around 8:00 a.m. also caused the injuries of three firefighters who helped to battle the blaze.
Authorities were reported to have received a call concerning the fire at a house on Beach 95th Street. One individual was still inside the house when responders arrived. The occupant was identified as 47-year-old Dawn Greig as she was immediately transported to a local hospital. Greig tragically succumbed to her injuries a short time later.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire and eventually extinguish the flames, however, three firefighters were also injured. The extent of their injuries has not been reported at this time. No further information has been provided in regards to this incident.
Investigators are currently working to determine the cause of the fire.
