Clarkstown, NY – Rollover Accident Leads to Fatality in One
Clarkstown, NY (November 3, 2018) – On November 1 around 6:43 p.m., police responded to a rollover accident on the Palisades Interstate Parkway that led to one fatality. The accident took place south of exit 11 in Clarkstown.
Police found that a 2015 Nissan Altima had been operated by 68-year-old Thomas Kofi, who had been traveling southbound when a deer came out of nowhere and the vehicle struck it. The vehicle then veered from the roadway and overturned after it struck some trees in the forest.
Troopers found the passenger, 50-year-old Miriam Kofi, unconscious in the vehicle. She was taken out of her vehicle and given CPR. However, when she was transported to the hospital, she was pronounced deceased.
Thomas Kofi was taken to the hospital with internal injuries.
