Farmingville, NY – Six People Injured When Van and SUV Collide at Intersection

Farmingville, NY (November 2, 2018) – Suffolk police have reported a crash between an SUV and a van that was carrying developmentally disabled adults on Friday night, November 2, in Farmingville. The accident which subsequently resulted in the injuries of six people was stated to have taken place at around 7:40 p.m.

The collision occurred at the intersection of Portion Road and Leeds Boulevard when the van that was heading south on Leeds made a turn onto Portion Road, eastbound. The van was struck by a 2017 Chevrolet SUV while the van was in the process of turning, according to police.

Emergency medical personnel immediately arrived on the scene and rescuers were forced to cut one of the van doors off in order to assist the victims inside. Police said that both drivers along with the four special needs passengers in the van were transported to local hospitals to be treated. All injuries were reported to have been minor.

No further information is currently available as police are likely conducting a detailed investigation into the crash.
