Berne, NY – Head-On Crash on Delaware Turnpike Leaves One Hospitalized

Berne, NY (October 26, 2018) – A head-on collision that took place in Berne on Thursday night, October 25, has landed one person in the hospital, according to authorities. The accident was reported to have occurred a little after 6:30 p.m. in the vicinity of Delaware Turnpike and Helderberg Trail.

The Albany County Sheriff’s Office stated that Laura Woods Miller was the operator of a vehicle when she blew through a stop sign on Delaware Turnpike. Miller proceeded through the intersection with Helderberg Trail and subsequently collided with another vehicle. The other driver was reported to have been transported to Albany Medical Center for treatment of a leg injury.

Police and paramedics on the scene confirmed the existence of the injury but not the seriousness of it. Miller has been issued a citation for failure to stop at a stop sign.
