Brooklyn, NY – Father and Young Son Struck by Car at Crosswalk

Brooklyn, NY (October 25, 2018) – A man and his 11-year-old son were struck by a vehicle after a minor collision between two cars at an intersection in Brooklyn on Thursday morning, October 25. The accident happened at around 7:50 a.m. while the two pedestrians were attempting to cross Crown Street near Brooklyn Avenue.

According to a surveillance video, the father and son were crossing Crown Street when a vehicle that was passing through the intersection collided with another vehicle that was heading down Brooklyn Avenue. The impact of the collision sent the vehicle that was hit careening head-on toward the two pedestrians.

The father, 47, seemed to suffer more severe injuries than his son, although both were classified to have sustained minor injuries as a result of the accident. According to a spokeswoman for the NYPD, both victims suffered minor injuries as they were quickly transported to Methodist Hospital.

Police may be looking into the collision that caused the accident in order to determine liability.
