Staten Island, NY – One Killed After Being Struck by Train in Grant City
Staten Island, NY (October 19, 2018) – Authorities confirmed the death of one person who was reported to have been struck by a train in Grant City on Friday night, October 19. Emergency medical crews arrived on the scene at the Grant City train station at approximately 8:15 p.m. where they found the victim.
The cause of this accident is currently unknown as investigators are working the evidence left at the scene. According to a spokesperson for the FDNY, neither the age nor the gender of the victim could be identified at this time. Train services in both directions had to be suspended while investigators began looking into the incident.
A witness stated that the victim seemed to be a young male in his 30’s, however, that information has not been verified at this time.
