Huntington Station, NY – Pedestrian Suffers Serious Injuries After Crash on New York Avenue
Huntington Station, NY (October 17, 2018) – According to Suffolk County Police, a pedestrian was seriously injured following a motor vehicle accident that took place on New York Avenue Wednesday, October 17. The accident was reported to have occurred about 30 feet south of Pulaski Road.
Reports stated that a 27-year-old man was crossing New York Avenue when he was struck by a 2005 Chevrolet pickup that was heading south on the same road. Emergency medical crews were quickly called to the scene to assist the individual who appeared to be suffering from very serious injuries. The victim was flown to Stony Brook University Hospital with a serious leg injury. The identity of the victim is being withheld until loved ones can be notified.
40-year-old Jose Martinez was also hit by the pickup, although he was reported to have suffered no injuries. Likewise, the 31-year-old driver of the truck, Patrick Anderson, was also unharmed in the crash.
The vehicle involved was impounded to be checked, and investigators are currently looking into all the events that led to this accident.
