Manhattan, NY – Motorcyclist Dies in Fatal Collision with NYPD Truck

Manhattan, NY (October 16, 2018) – A crash between a motorcyclist and an NYPD Emergency Service Unit truck took place in Manhattan on Monday night, October 15, according to officials. The crash that claimed the life of the 32-year-old motorcycle rider was reported at around 11:00 p.m.

The accident was reported to have taken place on the upper east side as the motorcycle crashed into the truck which was heading eastbound on 96th Street. Emergency crews were immediately called to the scene in order to assist police and render aid to anyone who may have suffered any injuries due to the impact of the collision.

According to the NYPD, the motorcycle rider was tragically pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Reports stated that there was also a female passenger on the motorcycle who suffered injuries and she was immediately transported to a local hospital for treatment. That victim has been reported to be in stable condition at this time.

No further injuries were reported and there is no more information available in regards to the events that led to this devastating accident. Police are currently conducting a thorough investigation.
