Nanuet, NY – Multi-Car Crash Leaves Four Injured on Route 59 and Old Nyack Turnpike

Nanuet, NY (October 15, 2018) – One person was reported to have suffered very serious injuries as three others were also hurt following a three-vehicle collision on Monday afternoon, October 15. The Rockland County crash took place at around 3:10 p.m. at the intersection of Route 59 and Old Nyack Turnpike.

According to police, two of the vehicles involved were stopped in the right lane after being involved in a relatively minor fender bender at the intersection. Unfortunately, a third car that was traveling in that lane failed to stop and crashed into both vehicles.

There were four people inside the third car who were reported to have exited the vehicle immediately after the crash and fled the scene on foot. However, those parties were apprehended a short distance away from the scene.

One of the individuals in one of the vehicles that were struck suffered a serious leg injury. That person was quickly transported to Westchester Medical Center. Three others were promptly taken to Nyack Hospital with less severe but undisclosed injuries. An investigation into the crash caused the closure of the intersection for an unspecified time.
