Patchogue, NY – Man Strikes Individual in Pedestrian Accident

Patchogue, NY (October 14, 2018) – In Patchogue, a Mastic man was accused of driving drunk following a pedestrian accident where he struck an individual and then fled the scene around 2 a.m. this morning, October 14.

The man who is accused of driving drunk has been identified as Roberto Ortez. At the time, he ran into a pedestrian who was crossing Main Street at the time.

Ortez fled the scene and rear-ended another vehicle, then striking a utility pole near River Avenue. Police said that the pedestrian was taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries. Ortez was also injured in the accident that he caused.

Ortez is now facing a variety of charges.
