South Glens Falls, NY – Three People Injured in House Fire near Intersection

South Glens Falls, NY (July 5, 2019) – A fire that entirely destroyed the upper level of a home located on Spring Street near Fourth Street in South Glens Falls also sent two people, including one child, to the hospital. The fire which broke out at approximately 2:00 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, July 4th, also resulted in at least minor injuries to one firefighter.
According to the South Glens Falls Fire Company, they arrived at the fire to discover two burn victims who had just escaped the flames. Firefighters and EMS descended upon the scene, where one child was transported to Albany Medical Center before being taken to Boston for further treatment. One adult victim was promptly rushed to a Syracuse burn unit.
A firefighter at the scene was treated for heat exhaustion, as additional manpower was brought to the scene because of extremely high temperatures, according to officials. The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time.
