Staten Island, NY (July 4, 2019) – Several allegations of sexual abuse have surfaced against a former Staten Island priest who also served as principal and dean at two high schools. Monsignor John Paddock has officially stepped down from his current duties at a Manhattan parish.

According to authorities, Monsignor Paddock was principal of Monsignor Farrell from 2002 until 2010, before which he served as an educator and academic dean at St. Joseph by-the-Sea High School. It was during his time as a teacher at St. Joseph by-the-Sea that the alleged victims say they were sexually abused by Monsignor Paddock.

Altogether, eight alleged victims have come forward to accuse the priest of forcible touching and sexual abuse between the years of 1988 and 2002. Neither the Manhattan D.A.’s office nor the New York Archdiocese has stated whether or not they are continuing to investigate the allegations.
