Staten Island, NY – Emergency Crews Summoned to Crash site on Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge

Staten Island, NY (July 3, 2019) – At least one lane on the upper level of the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge had to be shut down following a motor vehicle collision on Wednesday, July 3rd. The accident was stated to have occurred around 12:10 p.m. for reasons that remain unclear at this time.
According to police, the crash took place on the Brooklyn-bound side of the bridge and resulted in the presence of both emergency medical technicians and police. The large emergency response forced traffic to be backed up to the Hylan Boulevard exit as authorities arrived.
While very little information has been made available, police believe at least one person sustained injuries during this incident. However, there has been no word released concerning the severity of those injuries. Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation into the events that led to this collision.
