Levittown, NY – Update: 13-Year-Old Struck and Killed on Bicycle

Levittown, NY (July 1, 2019) – A 13-year-old boy was tragically struck and killed by a motor vehicle while riding his bike on Hempstead Turnpike in the Levittown on Sunday evening, June 30th. Authorities have not specified the exact time of the incident but it was reported to have happened sometime around 6:00 p.m.
According to police, 13-year-old Andrew Alati was riding on a bicycle along the aforementioned roadway when he was struck by a Toyota Camry. Alati sustained serious injuries as the unidentified 19-year-old male driver stopped his vehicle and attempted to help him.
Police and emergency medical technicians were immediately called to the scene, where, despite attempts to revive Alati, he was tragically pronounced deceased. Police have stated that the driver involved is not facing any charges at this time, although the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
