Ballston Spa, NY – Man from Malta Arrested and Charged with Rape

Ballston Spa, NY (July 2, 2019) – According to police, a man was recently arrested for the rape of a female under the age of 17-years-old. Police stated that 23-year-old Brandon Welfinger, of Route 9 in Malta, has been charged with one count of felony rape.
Authorities stated that the incident in which Welfinger is being charged took place in the town of Halfmoon on an unspecified date. Welfinger is reported to have engaged in a sexual relationship with the minor whose age has not been specified.
No details concerning the nature of the sexual abuse that occurred have been provided at this time; however, Welfinger was arrested on June 12th. He has since been arraigned and ultimately remanded to Saratoga County Jail. There has been no word concerning bail at this time.
