Brooklyn, NY – Two Killed in Fatal Accident on Belt Parkway

Brooklyn, NY (June 29, 2019) – Police confirmed that two people were killed in a fatal accident that took place on the Belt Parkway around noon on Sunday.
The crash took place on the westbound side of the highway near the area of the JFK Airport. At the time, a 2015 GMC Yukon had been carrying six people and pulled onto the shoulder. That is when a 2018 Toyota came along and rear-ended the vehicle.
The driver of the Camry was identified as 60-year-old Scott Linsky, who passed away from his severe injuries on Tuesday. His backseat passenger, identified as 80-year-old Maoni Schmidt, passed away on Sunday.
The driver and three women in the other vehicle were injured. Police continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the crash.
