Miller Place, NY – Woman Struck and Killed After Hit-and-Run

Miller Place, NY (June 25, 2019) – A 31-year-old woman was reported to have tragically lost her life after being struck by a vehicle that fled the scene on Monday night, June 24th. The fatal accident took place at the intersection of Miller Place Road and Echo Avenue in Miller Place around 10:00 p.m.
The victim, identified as Mary Ginty, 31, was hit by a Hyundai Elantra at the aforementioned location. The driver of the Elantra did not remain at the scene to assist Ginty or cooperate with authorities. Ginty was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was sadly pronounced deceased.
After a short investigation, police were able to locate the driver, now identified as 30-year-old John Lang, at his parents’ house in the town of Ridge. Lang was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in death and was due in court this morning. No further information has been released.
